Equine Portraits make for powerful visuals old master style

A classic equine head portrait photo session.
Sound boring?
Yep, but not if you push the norm, the colours and sprinkle it all over with an interesting vibe.
These guys and gal were gorgeous and polished up to the nines for our photoshoot.

The day was hot graced only by a very soft summer breeze.

The backdrops rolled out, looking stunning, the colours just right for highlighting the shinny coats and ripped muscles.

The lighting bright and open. These equines were coming out into the open and their would be no hiding in the shadows.

I worked instinctively, excited to be back in the field, back in familiar territory*

The results are bright, warm and full of memorable feelings.

Just as every summer should be ...

You have no idea how this session made my heart smile and do all sorts of unexpected happy jigs. Working with beauty to create beauty. Life just does not get better than that.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to The Bucephalos Club for the amazing opportunity and of course to Damil Dressage for their behind the scenes help and not laughing to hard at my escapades perching from a stool.

*many of you may not know but horses have always been a huge anchor in my life. I professionally worked with them for decades and drew them with passion for a tad longer. You can discover my pencil drawings over on my website sheonahamiltongrant.com
