Understanding and loving boudoir photography means understanding and loving the importance of playing with light & shadows, using minimal controlled posing and, crucially, recognising all the emotions in the room.
Grasping all the insecurities and body shaming that we as woman have encountered, allows me to make sure that the session focuses on my sitter’s superpower, how they are feeling, who they are and nothing else.
When coming in for their boudoir session, my clients have been fully briefed in what to wear and know what to expect. They have been part of the concept planning of their session and know for a fact that they are not going to be asked to wear anything that they are not comfortable with. You do not have to be naked for a boudoir session. Implied nude is super sexy and just as fabulous.
Elegant, timeless, tasteful with a touch of “agent provocateur” are four adjectives that are synonymous with my Boudoir work. Trashy, brash and slutty are not on my agenda and identifiers that I’m not at all interested in.
The final images always turn out to be one of a kind and nothing but exceptionally beautiful.
