New Colour work Takes bronze Award at the portrait masters awards

Overcoming fear and seeing the benefit of the challenge set by pain are the two main reasons behind these images. My heart and passion still lie in black and white imagery be it photography or art but there is something incredibly empowering in tackling the scary monster head on. This is, I realise, what colour had always been for me: a big scary hairy monster that others could tackle way better than me.

Going into this wee mini journey, I had no idea how fascinating it would be and how, by just switching a wee switch in my perception, suddenly I would start to see the strength and thought behind the colour combinations in so many of the visuals I liked.

So, receiving a big thumbs up from the industry (still dancing wee magic dances) has pushed me a wee bit further down the road and I do believe I am ready to tackle a few more colour creations again.
